Our Board

Alex Ballios

Alex has been a resident of Troy, Michigan since 1998. He holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and is a Professional Engineer licensed with the State of Michigan. Alex was responsible for designing the power electronics system for the U of M solar car entry in GM Sunrayce USA in 1991. He has over 15 years of experience in the automotive industry, including electrical system testing, project planning, dealership service improvements and system design. Alex’s interest in community involvement was sparked by volunteering as a member of the Wealth Creation committee of the Futures 2020 Task Force for the City of Troy.

Vickie Bellinger

Vickie, like many serving on this Board, looks for opportunities to make life better for others. Her career has also offered her this as well. She has been a Director of Benefits for major employers in Michigan, including MSU, Michigan National Corp, Comerica, Kelly Services and currently HOV Services located in Troy. Vickie has her Bachelors from MSU, and has her professional certification (CEBS) in Employee Benefits from the Wharton School. She is a member of the Troy Woman’s Association, lives in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and is married to her husband George. They have one daughter residing in Ypsilanti.

Ren J. Carlton

Ren currently serves as President And CEO of DAS Professional Services and a host for the Business Reality Network Show. He graduated with honors from Oakland University and is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Specialist in Management Consulting (CSMC.) Ren specializes in business consulting, financial management, and controllership. In addition, he is an active member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and serves on the MACPA Ethics Task Force. Ren also speaks at multiple business seminars throughout Michigan. Audiences include the general public, college students, and other CPAs.

Chuck Church

Chuck received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude, from Wayne State University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy. He was employed by the General Motors Corporation for 18 years where he worked in Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Product Planning and Strategic Planning. As the Product Portfolio Manager, Chuck and his team received a President’s Council honor for an innovative New Concepts Development Process. He is a member in good standing of the Michigan Guild of Artists and Artisans. Chuck currently owns and manages Transient Light, LLC, a successful Fine Art and Studio Photography business. He was also co-chair of the Lifestyles committee of the City of Troy’s Futures 2020 Task Force.

Jeffrey Coval

Jeff received a Bachelor’s Degree, Cum Laude, in History and English from Central Michigan University in 1976. In 1981 he received his Masters in Education and Counseling from Wayne State University and a Juris Doctorate from Detroit College of Law, Cum Laude, in 1985. Jeff taught English and History in the Utica School District from 1976 to 2002 and has had his own law practice since 1986 with emphasis on probate, family and real estate law. He is a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Troy, Michigan Bar Association, Wayne County Probate Bar Association, Macomb County Probate Bar Association and the Oakland County Republican Party. He lives in Troy, Michigan, is married with two boys, and enjoys exercise, golf and skiing.

Eric Dietz

Eric is a Senior Vice President with National City Bank within the corporate banking division in Troy, Michigan. Prior to joining National City Bank in 2002, he held various commercial banking positions with LaSalle Bank (formerly Michigan National Bank), serving the Western Wayne County and Oakland County communities. He began his banking career in 1987 after obtaining his bachelor’s degree in finance from Michigan State University. Eric is actively involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Southeast Michigan and lives in Troy, Michigan with his wife and two children.

Cele Dilley

Having moved to Troy with her husband and two sons in 1967, Cele has watched many changes take place in Troy. She was employed by Magnatool, Inc. for 28 years as the office manager and retired in 2005. Cele was a member of the Troy Jaycee Auxiliary from 1968 thru 1980. She has been active with the Troy Daze Festival for 38 years and was a member of the Advisory Board since 1988, and the Chairman of the Board in 2005 and 2006. Cele has been working with the 60+ group of Faith Lutheran Church where she has been a member since 1969. She is currently involved with the Foundation’s SHARP program where she serves on the Steering Committee as its Database Coordinator. In 1992, Cele Dilley was honored by being named Troy’s Distinguished Citizen of the year.

Tom Duszynski

Tom has worked as an information technology professional for over 20 years. He started his career as a network analyst with EDS. In 1990, Tom moved to Wayne State University’s Division of Computing and Information Technology. He currently manages the Customer Services Department where he oversees the help desk, web based support services and computer repair. Tom is active in the Troy Community where he serves as secretary and webmaster for Leadership Troy and the Athens High School Orchestra Parents Association. He is the co-chair for the annual Troy Daze Photography Contest and served as the co-chair for the Lifetime Learning Task Force of the City of Troy’s Vision 2020 project. Tom and his family have lived in Troy, Michigan for over 12 years.

John (Bruce) Gates

Bruce graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Aerospace Engineering). He retired from Daimler Chrysler as a Senior Manager in 2004. He held various positions in Electrical Engineering working in product design and development for 34 years. Bruce has been a resident of Troy, Michigan since 1978.

Bill Hall

Bill has been a Troy, Michigan resident since 1995. He is presently employed by Ciber, Inc. and has been a computer programmer since 1989. His community activities include a four year involvement with the Macomb County Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, Oakland County Probate Court Guardianship Reviewer for six years and the Magic of Fall Troy Daze Festival since 1997. In a past life, Bill was also a Professional Bartender.

David Hanley

David is a member of the investment team at TouchStone Partners, LLC, a private equity investment firm with offices in Birmingham, Michigan and Baltimore, Maryland. David received a BBA with High Distinction from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst ("CFA") charter holder. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, CFA Institute, and the CFA Society of Detroit. David and his wife, Maria, have been residents of Troy since 2005. He has served as the co-chair of the Regionalism sub committee of the City of Troy’s Futures 2020 Task Force.

Michael Kaszubski

Michael is a visionary business leader with a track record of success in operations and financial management. His industry knowledge encompasses healthcare, financial services, retail, consumer products, professional services, restaurant, software development, food and durable goods distribution, facilities and construction. He has performed executive operations, turnaround management, strategic planning and consulting. Through his experience in venture startups, transition and transformation team leadership, Michael has successfully enhanced inefficient and unproductive environment into best-of-class organizations. He is a frequent national speaker on organizational development, leadership, change management, outsourcing, behavior modification techniques, and financial control initiatives. He has been published both nationally and internationally. Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree and a Masters in Taxation from Walsh College. He is a resident of Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Marc Kaszubski

Marc received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1999. He is presently an attorney at the law firm of O’Reilly Rancilio P.C. in Sterling Heights, Michigan and specializes in Commercial Litigation, Insurance Defense, Employment Law and Appellate. Marc is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Oakland County Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International and the Business section of the State Bar of Michigan. He has been active with the Troy Daze Festival as a judge for the parade since 2000, has been a Board member of the Foundation since 2002 and a mentor with the University of Detroit Mercy Mentorship Program. In 2005, Marc was named the Community Foundation of Troy’s volunteer of the year. He is a resident of Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Kenneth Lesperance

Ken has lived in Troy, Michigan for 22 years, is married, and has one daughter and one grand daughter. He is an active member of Kensington Church in Troy and is a Board member of the Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester, Michigan. Ken holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Institute of Technology.

Joseph Semany

Joe is a Client Sales Executive for EDS’ Global Sales and Client Solutions, focused on the Manufacturing Industries Group. He started his leadership in the sales arena at IBM in 1972. In 1990, Joe began his own firm, Joseph Semany Associates, Inc., providing consulting services focused on restructuring an organization’s information systems and infrastructure. From 1995 to 1997, Joe served as a marketing Manager at IBM where he focused on Fortune 500 Accounts. In 1997 He became Vice President of Marketing and sales for Infotronics delivering service solutions to Fortune 500 accounts. From 1998 thru 2000, Joe worked as global sales manager for Compaq Computer Corporation and prior to joining EDS in 2004, he was employed by Hewlett Packard as global client business manager on Delphi. Joe earned his Bachelors degree in marketing at the University of Detroit. He lives in Troy, Michigan with his wife of 33 years and has served the community as past president of both the Community Foundation of Troy and the Troy Foundation for Educational Excellence. Joe also served on the Wealth Creation sub committee of the City of Troy’s Futures 2020 Task Force.

Tim Watts

Tim is a partner in Econostrat Advisory Corporation, an investment management and financial counseling firm. He has extensive experience in the financial services industry and has authored financial books and articles. He has also served as an instructor of economics and finance at the college level. Tim received a Master’s in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Economics and Business Administration from the University of Detroit, and is a Certified Financial Planner. He has been a resident of Troy, Michigan since 1982.
